OnlineExamMaker offers the question bank which makes manage questions easy. Each question have a category, a title, four options. Now, let’s create a new question.

First, you need login to your account, and navigate to the questions manage page

Click the button, then the browser will navigate to the new question page

Here we can select three question types to add: Multiple Choice, Multiple Response and True False question.

Multiple Choice

The question have four options, and a students must select a option as the right answer.

Multiple Response

The question have four options, and a student can select a max four options as the right answer.

True False

The question have two options, True and False. a student should judge the question is true or false.

Select the question type you want to create, and fill in the question content, options, select the right answer, fill in the right feedback, the wrong feedback,

select the category of the question, give the question a point, and then click the save button to save the question.

Right Wrong Feedback

The right wrong feedback is the information will be shown when the students did the question right or wrong, the principle is, when the student did the right answer, the right feedback message will be displayed; when the student did the question wrong, the wrong feedback will be display to the student. You can write the conclusion information at the right feedback to let the students to deep think about the question, or give some tips to the students why he or she is wrong at the wrong feedback.

Points

The points is the score the student will got when he or she did the question right. Usually, this score will added to the total score, only when the students did the question right. You can use score to determine the importance of the question. If this question is much harder, you can increase the points to a large number, if this question is very simple, you can assign a small number to this question. When a students got a higher score, it usually means the student manage the knowledge better than others, you can use the total score to examines the students.

Randomize Answers

If you check the Randomize answer on, then every time the question display to a student, the options of this question will display randomly, then the right answer will be randomized too, so, different student will have different answer. This will easily prevent students to remember the question options order.

Students are managed in groups, a group can have many students. You can assign a exam to a student group, then only the students in the group can do the exams. A group may be a class, a category of your students, You can create any groups.

New Group

To create a group is very easy at OnlineExamMaker, first you should login and navigate to the group page by click on the group menu on the left main menu

Click the button to start create a new group

Fill in you group title ( this is the group name ) and then click save, you can ignore the Alias field, after you clicked the save button, you group will be available right now.

Import Students

Now, we have created a group, we can import or add students to our group now. First let’s import some students to our default group.

move you mouse over the action item of the group you want to import students, Click it and popup a menu, and then click the Import students to this group to import students.

OnlineExamMaker currently only support import special formatted excel files.  You can read the tutorial on how to import students to group firstly.

Select the excel file you want to import by click the Choose file button and Click upload to start import students. For details, please read this tutorial

Add a student

Also click the Action link, within the popup menu, click the Add a student item

Fill in all the fields, and then click Add button.

The password is generated by system and will send to the student after you added or imported one. Student should open that email to active their account and login to modify their password

adding a student or import students needs more works, There is a more simple way for teacher to add students to a group.

Let students register to a group

Like the above image shown, click the get students register URL

copy the URL to your students, and share with them the QRCode which is much convenient to scan on a phone.

The register process only needs few minutes.

Create a new smart exam is very easy, firstly, you should have a OnlineExamMaker account, and signed in.

At the left side main menu, you will find a menu item called exams, click it, and you will navigate to the exams manager page

You will see the large green button , Click on it to create a new exam.

There are four simple steps to create a new exams

1. Fill in the exam basic information, like exam title, exam category, visibility of the exam, exam image, keywords, and descriptions.
2. Add questions to the exam, in this step, you can select questions from the question bank or create new questions for this exam
3. Do some settings, you can set the availabilities of this exam, who can do this exam, the theme of this exam, a theme of a exam is the skin like the colors of the exam, there are many other settings available in the step 3.
4. Finally in step 4, your exam have been successfully created, you can now share with your friends or let your students, employees to do the exam. You can share the exam to Facebook, Google plus, friends by email and etc. Also, a QR Code is available, it will be conveniently for mobile devices uses for it can be scanned easily and no need to do hard type.

We will describe the four steps more details at the following.

Title

This title is title of the exam. The title will be as the name of the exam, will be displayed on the top of the screen when students or employees try to do your exam.

Category

The exam category, this is used for you to manage your exams. You can click Add new category link just below this option to add a new category for your exam.

Set exam private

A private exam will not be accessible for the public, will not be listed at the OnlineExamMaker explore page.

Exam Image

Move your mouse over the image will show a button

Click Choose image button and will pop up a window for you to select or upload a image as the exam image

You can select a image at the Images library and click the “Select” button to finish exam image selection, or you can Click the Upload image tab to upload a image as the exam image

Click the select file button to select a image and upload to cloud and then crop to the suitable size

Drag the select area to crop you image, after you selected the crop area, then click the upload button at the end of the popup window

While upload may need a few seconds, after finished, your image will displayed at the exam image option field, like the following

Keywords

The keywords of your exam, you can understand this like tag, which are some words used to describe what the exam about to. These words will also be used at the exam doing page, which can be accessed by the Search engine if your exam is public

Description

Fill in some more words to describe your exam, like what kind of knowledge it’s about and etc

At the end, click the next button to submit these information and go to the next step “Add some questions to exam”
